I think Derek Jarman’s ā€œProspect Cottageā€ one of my favourite gardens in the world, such a defiant act of beauty & regeneration in a scarred landscape (it’s next to a nuclear power station) and precarious life (Jarman planted it knowing he would die of AIDS).
Does anyone here have experience with the old practice of salting asparagus? šŸ§‚The idea is that it suppresses weeds, but the asparagus can cope because it is a beach plant.
I started a little experiment, actually with wood ash rather than salt as it also counteracts too acidic soil (but contains too much salt to use it in bigger quantities for most crops).
