Oh I walked around a cool accessible path loop in one of the nature reserves we visited while mum was here. It was a walkway with a raised curb on either side for tracking the edge, and then there'd be bumps accross the path whenever there was an info panel on the side, and the panel had braille and audio info on the plants in that part of the path.
A contribution to #bloomScrolling -- the red columbine I grew from seed. I am not good with tiny plants, and so I am amazed and delighted that my efforts with dirt and sand produced this flashy flower.
Alcatraz thinks it's so cool because it used to be a prison. Well, guess what? I'm a tower. And I'm still standing AND useful.

This is a mug from 1674. Doesn’t it look like something you could buy at Starbucks?

Coffee shops were common in bigger British cities in the 1670s, and according to Pepys, they shouted out your name when your drink was ready. People sometimes gave hilarious fake names for a laugh. Very little truly changes ☕️

EVERY COMPANY: We’d like to promote mental health in the workplace.

EMPLOYEES: How about hiring more people so we fell less pressured & increase our pay so we can keep up with the spiraling cost of living so we’re not so stressed out.

EVERY COMPANY: No not like that. Try yoga.

"You are old, Mr. Williams," the young man decreed,
"And you scarcely can wriggle your thumbs,
And yet you write notes like confessional screeds
About empty iceboxes and #plums!"

"In my youth," said the poet, "I wouldn't have dared
To be halfway so hungry and bold,
But once they were spotted, they couldn't be spared:
Delicious, so sweet and so cold!"

hey I just met you
so don't be lazy
just learn my pronouns
and call me Maybe
@brianokken I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I used to hide my music practice from kiddo because I was afraid I was making mistakes. But now I'm honest about my journey to improve. I talk openly about my struggles in music or art and programming. I want them to see that it doesn't all happen perfectly each time! And they celebrate with me when I finally get something right that I have been struggling with!
Reminder: it's only a shenanigan if you've already done it at least once before. Otherwise it's just a shenan.

My chosen benediction when I learn of someone's death is "sit ei terra levis." I chose it after I was informed — as an agnostic who just took it for granted — that "rest in peace" is specifically associated with Christian burials.

"Sit tibi terra levis" is a benediction for the dead from ancient Roman tombs. It means "may the earth lie lightly upon you". I've swapped the "tibi" for "ei" — "you" for "that person".
