@soatok I have started to realise lately that the broader furry community does not have as much queer overlap as I thought. The spaces I’ve seen and been part of aren’t and haven’t really been moderated/informed as much as they could have.

I think if you took a poll of furries who go to cons and asked them for example: ‘should fursuiters who dress their characters as cops or national military get banned from con spaces?’ The answers you get might be a bit depressing. Another example would be how many cons dropped masking requirements, despite the objections of the chronically ill people in the fandom.

I still think the queer/furry overlap exists, but I’ve gone from ‘most furry spaces are queer friendly’ to just ‘furry spaces are more likely to be queer friendly’
