@kobi_lacroix Some factors are that Discord is a more "complete" comms package, it's trivially easy to start your own server, as already mentioned it's generally flashier and more modern looking, and due to all the servers being unified through a central system users are persistent and can be messaged even when they are offline. Evidently a lot of people think this is worth the downsides such as being at the mercy of a central system that can bite you with no recourse
