AWS US-EAST-1 is always the linchpin. Why do so many applications/services rely upon it instead of other AWS regions? Is there a better deal to use it? Or is it just the default and most clients don't care?

As a kid, I learned English from English language cartoons on FilmNet. I learned from German TV shows. My passion for Swedish crime series taught me Swedish.

But now, the largest tv medium of our time, YouTube, has begun auto-translating everything. Future generations will not be exposed to foreign languages and be inspired to take an interest.

There was no public review of this, no democratic vote. One company just decided to turn foreign cultures off and make the world dumber.

For profit.

just added the MEGA TERMINAL CHEAT SHEET from "The Secret Rules of the Terminal" to our list of posters at https://wizardzines.com/#posters
We're well into our first multi-track #longhornphp sessions of the day, after a keynote from @flowcontrol. We have @DaveLiddament talking about decoupling tests, @ericpoe walking through the command line, and Nočnica Mellifera explaining how to monitor synthetics with Playwright.
Love that the slop merchants are using my book to (further) enshittify Amazon, and that Amazon's terrible QA standards is letting 'em do it.
@ramsey absolutely!
@ramsey Court fools could tell the king what his closest advisors could not. Some were too brutal in their honesty and paid a price for it -- see: the skull of poor Yorick in Hamlet. However, if the fool could get the court to laugh at themselves, perhaps the court could change for the better. Punching up is a time-honored custom.

@ramsey I understood his premise. I disagree with the sentiment, though. I've heard the same said about Blazing Saddles and wonder if they have seen Tropic Thunder, Team America: World Police, any episode of South Park, etc.

In a world where The Book of Mormon is a Broadway hit, why would one not be able to make a comedy movie today where a specific religion is the subject?

@derickr does this mean that we're limited to what the c compiler can provide?
