Reverse engineer, security researcher, software developer, sysadmin... okay I think my collection of hats is taller than me

I do random things for fort.ind (fort1nd.com), CrossTalk (crosstalk.im), etc.

And it seems very common, in journalism as a whole really, that headlines are engineered as close to "technically accurate, but incredibly overexaggerated" as possible simply for the clicks and revenue. I'm not saying that bad shit doens't happen at MS/elsewhere, I'm saying that the actually bad things shouldn't be watered down with yet another bullshit news article assuming the worst based on 1 or 2 forum posts

Random thought:

Microsoft (insert any big tech company here) does a lot of bad shit but have we ever stopped to think that maybe every criticism *isn't* valid? Like one or two forum posts is not a valid indicator of WIDESPREAD CRASHING ISSUES IN [OS] OMG!!!

@xyla I only had to move once because the infra on my old instance was disastrously bad, and I'm hoping I never have to move again. I'm still fairly new to fedi but I feel like with the hassle it was for me to move I wouldn't want to do that often, let alone subject the people that follow me to that lol
Meta AI alignment director shares her OpenClaw email-deletion nightmare: 'I had to RUN to my Mac mini'

Meta alignment director Summer Yue hooked OpenClaw up to her inbox. Then, the bot tried to delete her emails. Yue chalked it up to a "rookie mistake."

Business Insider

How ironic is it when one of the people supposed to be ensuring AI is "safe" at one of the largest tech companies in the world totally forgets how GenAI works, sends it loose to clean out her main personal email, and is surprised when the context window is too small for a large inbox, causing the instructions to get lost and her entire inbox to get wiped

Whew
