i'm not really on here much but i got an email that the first federated instance i joined (in april 2017!!) is shutting down, and i just feel like people need to be aware of what this means when they sign up for federated social media

The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) Applicant Feedback Program aims to support Ph.D. applicants from communities that have historically been underrepresented in higher education, though it is open to all applicants. This includes, but is not limited to: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals Trans*, non-binary, and LGBT+/queer communities People with disabilities and/or chronic illness First-generation college students Individuals from low-income backgrounds People from the Global South Applicants have the opportunity to receive one round of substantial written feedback on their application materials (Statement of Purpose, Personal History Statement, and CV) from up to two current Ph.D. students. We are accepting submissions until November 15 at 11:59pm ET. Once you have submitted this form, we will contact you at the email address provided to ask for your application materials. We then aim to provide feedback within a week. If you have any questions, feedback, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Wells Santo at [email protected] and/or Rahaf Alharbi at [email protected]!
