I recently learned that solarbotics.com is selling @emsl 's amazing soldering kits! After having a blast last year with their Jumbo-sized 555 kit I had to get the XL741!

And this one was just as fun to put together as the 555 was!

Here's my oversized 741 as an inverting op-amp with an x10-ish ratio (configured through two resistors). The scope capture shows that the output is exactly as expected; inverted and 10x-ish times larger than the input, proving that it works just like the real thing!
