Happy Pi Day!

This is another picture I took in my last trip, but I had not published until now because I've spent the last couple of weeks processing it to get it to a point I was somewhat happy with.
Even when it's not perfect this is my best capture of the Orion and Running Man Nebulae so far, and while there's room for improvement, there's many things I love about it. #astrophotography

Another picture taken this past weekend. This one is of the Pleiades Open Star Cluster ( M45), also known as the Seven Sisters.

This is just 20 minutes of data (which I originally thought wasn't going to be enough) without a filter, using the same SVBONY SV555 APO lens and a ZWO ASI533MC Pro camera. #astrophotography

Carina Nebula (NGC 3372, or C92).

Captured last Friday with an SVBONY SV555 APO Triplet Lens, an Antlia Triband RGB Ultra II filter, and an ASI533 MC Pro cooled camera. #astrophotography

This is The Sculptor Pinwheel Galaxy (NGC300 / C70). It's a very faint galaxy that doesn't venture high over the horizon around this time of the year, making it harder to photograph.

Over the last two nights I captured roughly 3 hrs of it with my Dwarf Mini. It required a lot of post-processing but this is by far the best picture of a galaxy I've taken yet. #astrophotography

This is the best I could do with my captures of Jupiter. I'm still an amateur when it comes to planetary photography but my first picture of Jupiter looks a lot better with some extra color calibration and contrast adjustments. #Jupiter #astrophotography

Yesterday I managed to take this picture of Jupiter and its 4 Galilean Moons; Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.

On the second picture you can see a progression of detail extraction after stacking thousands of pictures of the planet.

Finally, I added a direct comparison between two different moments of the capturing session, roughly 30 minutes apart. It's amazing how much Jupiter rotates in such a short amount of time.

It's that time of the year again. Happy Birthday Roy Batty! #bladerunner
Top 2 reasons for communications to be down (in no particular order):
- Solar flares
- Cloud flare

While I've been mostly photographing Nebulas, they are not the only beautiful objects in the night sky.

This is Messier 22, also known as the Great Sagittarius Cluster, a region packed-full of stars.

This photo was taken with a small astrograph, and I'm tempted to try with a larger instrument next time, hoping to capture even more stars. #astrophotography
