@cliffwade I like your perspective and can agree with it when breaking down cost with play time. That's assuming everyone that buys a game puts in the appropriate time for the cost, and doesn't abandon the game, or the game isn't abandoned by the publisher.

@cliffwade No physical production costs, most likely still have premium DLC and microtransactions, no resale for purchasers, the prices always drop after a time...just a few reasons. If a game was non-linear and open-ended with guaranteed content updates then maybe but a linear game with a definitive end and no replayability incentive, not cool IMO.
