Another variation (from Matt at the Telegraph) on the theme of British Museum artefacts appearing on eBay.
Utterly shocking considering how many regular assertions are made about how safe items are there.
The Daily Telegraph's cartoon by Matt on the subject of the vast number of items going missing from the British Museum (attributed now sacked Mediterranean Cultures Curator Peter John Higgs).

Tipu Sultan’s ‘Bedchamber Sword’, with its exquisite gold calligraphy and royal umbrella marking, looted after the fall of Seringapatam in 1799 goes on sale at auction on the 23rd of May

Asking price 1.5-2 million pounds

Seeing as the Stone of Scone (AKA Stone of Destiny) it's worth reposting the story of its history as something restituted to Scotland multiple times.

RECOVERED just yesterday. Antoine Blanchard - The Arc de Triomphe and Champs- Elysee, Paris.
This was one of over 3000 paintings stolen from the Arnot Gallery by Louis Edelman in the late 1950s and early 1960s. We've recovered many of these over the years and will never give up

Ethiopian loot of the day: A "prayer scroll". No doubt where it came from - see note on back "Abyssinia War 1868". No doubt who claims it now - see ownership stamp right in middle of an image - BM, i.e. @britishmuseum, before transfer to @britishlibrary https://www.theprinceandtheplunder.com/2023/04/20/a-prayer-scroll-with-five-miniatures-or-12025/
