Honestly very moved by Parker Molloy saying “take a beat” about blocking servers. So much of the intensity of this past week has been about judging the actions of strangers on the account of other strangers, and sometimes you do have to act on what you believe happened, or no one would act. But when someone directly involved has the courage and graciousness to say things were more complex, that’s a cultural shift in what’s possible.
This seems like an appropriate first comic for mastodon.
they put a christmas sweater on the t-rex at the national history museum in london and it's ridiculous and adorable
My warmest condolences to the LGBT community in Colorado Springs and my biggest fuck you to every republican politician that has blocked the gun control legislation that would have prevented this tragedy #ColoradoSprings
@Bronwen and an equally big 'fuck you' to every politician and pundit who demonizes the lgbtq community. Equally responsible.
Today is #TransDayofRemembrance when we honor and remember trans lives taken by violence. How horrifying that a deadly attack upon the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado Springs should occur right before this solemn day.
Hate isn’t born in us. It is taught. It must end.
This starts with our political leaders, who must cease their cynical attacks against our community before another attack occurs.
Call out the hate. Remind them of its consequences. Hold them to account.
Next time someone complains about singular "they" I'll point them to this 17th century rant against singular "you"
@hbflyte As a software engineer, I feel like there absolutely should be. As a very occasional writer, I can't think of what it would be.
this dude basically paid $44B for a domain name.
@JoeSondow thanks so much for this, makes Mastodon feel a bit more like “home”
