The chronicle of a death (frequently) foretold... at the risk of reviving a heated debate in my timeline some months ago on the relative advantages of #ebooks vs. printed #books, despite claims e-books would lead to the demise of the printed book, it seems for many people (in the UK) the printed book remains the way they like to read... the death of the printed book remains on the horizon (but somehow never reached)

I just signed the petition "#Ofcom: Hold #GBNews to account" and wanted to ask if you could add your name too.

This campaign means a lot to me and the more support we can get behind it, the better chance we have of succeeding. You can read more and sign the #petition here:

Ofcom: Hold GB News to account

Boris Johnson has announced he is joining GB News and will be hosting a show during the UK elections. Our media regulator, Ofcom, has rules that TV stations can’t use their broadcasts to influence viewers to vote for any party or person. A former Prime Minister on a channel that has breached impartiality rules before could be a recipe for disaster for our democracy. We don't have to agree with everything GB News does or says, but we should expect them to be held to the same high standards...

Today in 1969, The Beatles performed their legendary rooftop concert on the roof of the Apple Corps building in London.

They played for the city for 42 minutes before being stopped by the police.

It was John, Paul, George, and Ringo’s final public performance as “The Beatles”.

A bonfire of our liberties, @[email protected], that's what you're feeding: you're one of the #EnemiesOfThePeople, aren't you. We see you, and all your rotten party, and we'll never forgive you.

@[email protected], as my local MP please oppose the government's regressive anti-strike Bill. The right to strike, whatever one's job, has been hard fought for; we'll never forgive you if you casually and supinely go into the aye lobby. #ProtectTheRightToStrike https://twitter.com/organisehq/status/1618921154760282112
