@frog "I don't want modern corporate-controlled software" MFs when they actually have to use non-modern languages to write their non-modern software
to the idiots using xlibre: this is the code quality of the changes

Achievement Unlocked!

I have now reached the "telling people at NVIDIA how their hardware works" level.

@nixCraft mum, can we have flatpak? No, we have flatpak at home.
@vncresolver would you look at that, another university office printer with its own public IP from the GARR
@mort basically terraria

@vncresolver many universities in the GARR have big ranges of public IPv4s that they got a hold of in the '90s, sometimes even /16 ranges, and now they are "forced" to waste them, giving public IPs to every VM or every PC in a lab, every student's laptop connected via Ethernet instead of wifi, to justify that they are still using them...

Turns out that printers are not supposed to have public IPs

@hackaday there are still some lan games though. Sackboy and Mario kart 8 comes to mind. And you can also use it for gamestreaming from one house to the other.
@hackaday depends on the friend. If I have bandwidth to spare and it's a non-techy friend I might do it to split the bill (maybe paired with some kind of firewall/vlan because it's the non-techy friends), but fast internet in Italy is so cheap it's not worth it.
With the techy friends, sure, we could share networking projects and self-hosted stuff.
But for just lan games, zerotier is free, easy, and often fast enough, it's also great at hole punching cgnat.
