The only reason I was able to make a credit card payment recently is because I was able to pay as a guest. I no longer have access to my transaction history, balance information, etc. The reason: having to verify my identification. More and more people are resorting to the selfie-ID scan method to verify identity. Problem: These places require that you take a short video of yourself and follow an animation to get the angle of your face right, which is nigh impossible for totally blind people to do independently. Many of these companies that are resorting to this method are not providing another alternative to get this done. We might be able to get a hold of customer service by phone if we're lucky, chat bot if not... Anyone agree chat bots aren't helpful with such things? Well guess what? They're not. If we can get a hold of customer service, we'll have to fax or mail in our verification. WTF happened to just sending a code via text?

Thread: I am disgusted and disappointed that the UK Government or a web host in fear of them has chosen to take down a website organising a protest against the prescription of the Activist group, Palestine Action, as a terrorist organisation. I am disgusted at the prescription itself. Protesting the prescription is legal. The website contained copious info on how to protest legally and peacefully. The removal was irresponsible and authoritarian. These disturbing trends should be opposed.
Well, looks like we'll be moving permanently over to NVDA at the end of the current licence. We just can't justify paying the stupid prices for Jaws when there are free alternatives that, for the most part work much better.
And not making the Home edition available outside of the US is just total bonkers and makes no sense whatsoever.
It's a real shame because i'ts not just affecting the end user, it will have a knock on effect for those who provide training, scripting etc.

Double TapWe're aware of a bug in the latest release of WhatsApp affecting voice messages - if you use the double tap and hold gesture to allow yourself to record a longer message you will not be able to find the Send button without turning on Screen Recognition. Double Tap has contacted Meta's accessibility team who have confirmed they will look into this.
For the past five days, we've had to go to the bomb shelter several times a day to protect ourselves from Iranian missiles. This morning, they sent 20 missiles closer to our apartment than any of the previous attacks. One of the Missiles landed in the next town and created a great big hole.
