@DeGroene we moeten duiden duiden duiden duiden. Alles benaderen volgens ons ultieme wereldbeeld. De ironie.

This fascinating timelapse of an orb-weaver spider building her web is even more remarkable considering she removes it before dawn each day and constructs a new one every night to avoid daytime predators.

@provocatoot So, here’s a white man’s take: racism is defined as discrimination based on skin color. Many groups, some overlapping with white people (like LGBT+) have faced discrimination based on their group identity. What makes you believe they cannot relate? Romanians have faced discrimination and persecution, Jews faced genocide based on their religious affiliation and genetic background. If you want to be heard, relate to others in a similar fate.

@davidho @beforewisdom We had the same problem in the Netherlands in the 70s. It does require continuous activism though. Not sure if the States have this culture.
@davidho @beforewisdom They do, but not on the same road! You need a well designed infrastructure and an understanding of different modes for different errands.
@happyday @davidho the Guardian has a nice piece: https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2015/may/05/amsterdam-bicycle-capital-world-transport-cycling-kindermoord It took many decades to where we are now and a continuous push to make our cities more bike friendly. It didn’t happen over night!
How Amsterdam became the bicycle capital of the world

In the 1960s, Dutch cities were increasingly in thrall to motorists, with the car seen as the transport of the future. It took the intolerable toll of child traffic deaths – and fierce activism – to turn Amsterdam into the cycling nirvana of today

@adhdmarie Yeah, let’s get back to electronics, or piano, chocolate making? No, let’s do category theory or automatic theorem proving? Perhaps continue my Slovenian language course or the recipe website I made three years ago…
