This is my latest piece, Anthropomorphic Foam 2. It explores a local legend, corpses from shipwrecks washed up on the strand long ago were buried in anonymous graves in nearby graveyards. The figure is done in impasto - thickened oil paint gives a 3 D look. #oilpainting #art #painting #locallegend #surreal

Hi. I paint full time, all the time. Grew up on a tillage and sheep farm. Studied archaeology and history in college. Worked in archaeology for a few years after that on rescue digs around the country. Recession of '08 killed that off. Painting took over, was a hobby until then.
