My roommate bought these "dried olives" at a Chinese grocer, planned to use them to make her own bitters.
Turns out they are sort of candied, and unfortunately they smell and taste like cotton candy spun in a hardware store.
Got around to tcpdumping/wiresharking and found the culprits: tcp options, 2 no-ops + 1 timestamp = 12 bytes. So I should really read the data offset and subtract that from the maximum I'm setting. As far as I can tell, that seems to require reading the raw packets. Fine.
But! Turns out raw packages are larger than even the MTU because of fucking TCP Segmentation Offloading.
So I don't know how posting about a Swedish furniture brand works but this is my contribution
