You might have seen somebody using the proverb Vox Populi, Vox Dei. What was missing was the context in which it was used:
Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.
In case you do not speak Latin, it means in English:
And those people should not be listened to who keep saying the voice of the people is the voice of God since the riotousness of the crowd is always very close to madness.
Multihoming on both Mastodon and Twitter at the moment.
Replicating my followings from Twitter to Mastodon using the Fedifinder tool took ~10min. 👍
I don't under practitioners who say 'Mastodon is hard' and yet still deal with PACER every day.
I'm warming up to the idea of Mastodon. It seems like the folks that want a curated local server environment can have that, but also the sort of dense graph that Twitter enabled can still happen.
If nothing else it would be neat for the government to run it's own instance as a way of verifying itself and official accounts.
I have no idea if the wider federated network is capable of handling all that but I'm just looking to move on from Twitter at this point
