A simple fact - until #ClimateChange cramps the style of the 1%, absolutely nothing will be done to seriously mitigate its effects, no matter how many millions die.

Admittedly, by then, it may be too late to do anything about it. https://www.vice.com/en/article/93k5az/ipcc-says-current-plans-are-insufficient-to-tackle-climate-change-as-emissions-keep-increasing

IPCC Says Current Plans Are ‘Insufficient to Tackle Climate Change’ As Emissions Keep Increasing

A new report says emissions must start being reduced immediately if we’re to limit global warming to two degrees Celsius.

@mrgeoffshumba The polls are, indeed, in his favour, currently.

However, politics is more about choice than possibility. For instance, the Tories *choose* to make the poorest carry the burden, rather than tax those with the widest shoulders.

At the moment, Starmer is keen to highlight the similarities between the Tories and new New Labour, rather than choose to do things differently. Once that becomes more apparent to the electorate, Parties offering an alternative may eat into his lead.

'These aren’t just wonky policy details. Together, [Keir Starmer's] broken promises amount to an about-face. Or, perhaps more accurately, a double face.'

Starmer’s broken promises will come back to haunt him

Britain’s Labour leader was elected as a left-winger, but then ran to the right. Why would voters trust anything he says?
