Alexander's Shoelaces
Little Alexander of Macedonia wanted to be a sailor and practiced the most difficult knots with his shoelaces. In the evening, he wasn't able to untie them and had to cut the laces. His father, King Philippos, did not fully approve of this behavior, but he let his boy have his fun. Who could know what this practice would be good for in the end?
