I've never knowingly used these emojis... and I certainly would not have chosen those ones for that post...
So where did they come from....??
Is this a little known feature @Gargron ?

So, like all the other bemused and scrambling fb/tw migrants, I signed up by default on the `.social` instance... Whilst my account is still small, and until they manage to implement full profile migration, I'm splatting this account, and going to @taikedz !
It matches my interests and profile more specifically (what's in a name, hey...), but I guess given the distributed nature of Mastodon, this *shouldn't* make too much of a difference :-)

#minetest modding and hosting is eating up all my free time again. "Not So Simple Server" keeps needing tweaks and features. Lots of vicious mobs. Town-making feature coming.
previously, minecraft was my favorite game of all time. Now I think it might be minetest (https://www.minetest.net/) It checks a lot of boxes for me. Sandbox games are my favorite. Ways minetest is better than minecraft: - FOSS (free and open source software) - open and easily extensible by anybody - runs lighter and quicker [...]
Minetest is an open-source voxel game engine. Play one of our many games, mod a game to your liking, make your own game, or play on a multiplayer server. https://www.minetest.net/
Minetest has a very active community of players, modders, and game designers, and a large amount of content available: https://content.minetest.net/

"Ability to cross-post from Twitter works against Mastodon adoption"
My thesis on this is simple. People choose the easiest path. If the destination is "try Mastodon", one path is "log on and use Mastodon" and the other is "set an automated cross-poster, keep using Twitter". So, people who might have otherwise committed to using Mastodon, for there not being another option to "get on it", now have the option not to.
I have observed this trend before and after the cross-poster became available.
