Watching the gods play Marvel vs Capcom 2 was peak mall rat experience

For me it’s because I’m not reading the same top comment on virtually every post. I used to always skip top comment because it was just a copied comment to a repost, but eventually it got so silly I had to read halfway down to get any original thoughts. Now that we’re in a world where there’s so much bot generated content and it isn’t affecting lemmy in largely the same way as the other social media platforms, it’s even more apparent.

To the other repliers point, contrarian commentary isn’t censored as heavily and power tripping mods to get naked and shamed from what I’ve seen from my perspective - that said I am a heavy reader instead of commentator so I have my own set of biases.

I read comment sections to the end on lemmy, which I haven’t done on reddit in probably a decade
coulda just popped a quick W on it to let everyone know it’s filled with wasps
In Seattle we call these studio apartments, I learned reading this thread that it’s not a normal thing. My friends that live in one can’t cook without their bed absorbing the smell.

Someone on lemmy posted this recently: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_pineapple

My mother in law is Korean so out of curiosity I had her pick up the Korean dish made from it (meonggae) after seeing the lemmy post. It taste like the smell of a dank metal spiral stair case at Seaworld. Even through all the (imo) tasty spices and seasoning. I asked my MIL what she likes about it and she said, “it tastes so fresh because one bite and your transported to the sea”. Especially with the older generation, the context can make the food way more than the taste

I do this but I add cooked pasta in the pan sauce and eat it on the side of the steak, maybe with some lemon if the alcohol isn’t acidic enough for my taste
It also comes from ‘boomer’, some names tend to stick.
Thai chili as garnish is 10/10, I soak my chopped chili in fish sauce for a bit of saltiness.
In aquascaping/Planted tank community, some call duck weed ‘tank herpes’ cause once it’s found its way in, there’s no getting it out permanently. Eating it might be interesting use for it though, always nice to find a way to reuse biproducts from any hobby.
