Our company's final backup for data on mastodon.cloud has begun.

The backup data will be stored for a certain amount of time for recovery in the case of an issue before being deleted within 3 months to comply with GDPR and similar laws.

【運営譲渡に伴う今後のメンテナンスについて】
mstdn.jp / mastodon.cloud の運営譲渡に伴い、
物理的なサーバに関しても、弊社が管理するサーバから、新運営会社のSujitech, LLC.様の管理するサーバへ物理的な移行を予定しておりました。

その後、Sujitech, LLC. 様と再度話し合いました結果、
サーバの物理的な移転はせず、現在のサーバをそのままSujitech, LLC.様へ譲渡したうえで、引き続き利用する方針に変更となりました。
そのため、サービス断を伴う物理移転作業は当面の間見送られる見込みですが、
サーバのメモリリソースは現時点で既に逼迫しており、今後サーバ負荷上昇などが発生した際は移転等を実施する可能性があります。

譲渡後のメンテナンス予定についてはSujitech, LLC.様にお問い合わせください。

The law & regulation in US for these new decentralized tech (Mastodon, P2P network etc) are much more friendly in many aspects. We also see organizations like http://eff.org are fighting for people’s right in the digital world in the US and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced his plan/vision of a more decentralized Twitter last December. We hope some of the potential problems of mstdn.jp can be avoided by this transfer. Please spread this thread and enjoy mstdn.jp !

We've been long supporter of decentralized tech and federated social network.
