The law & regulation in US for these new decentralized tech (Mastodon, P2P network etc) are much more friendly in many aspects. We also see organizations like http://eff.org are fighting for people’s right in the digital world in the US and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced his plan/vision of a more decentralized Twitter last December.
