I turned on Fediverse sharing in Threads for myself, First Parish Dorchester, and Dorchester Growing Together. How do I tell if (where?) that is working? Is it only prospective or is older stuff now visible?

@crschmidt ?

Sometime in the next few weeks, we expect the BPDA will kick off the Small Area Planning for Squares + Streets in Fields Corner and Codman Square with a couple of Open Houses. A few BPDA staffers might join us tomorrow with some materials to share, say a few words, and answer questions, but no big presentation or formality about it.

Boston friends, especially my Dorchester neighbors -- I wrote a Commentary for our local paper, The Dorchester Reporter, about the urgency of the housing crisis we are facing. I specifically focus on how exclusionary zoning, with its origin in racial exclusion, classism, segregation, and inequity, that is holding us back from solving it. I would welcome you reading it, and, if you are persuaded, sharing it with your own networks.

Commentary | We have to get housing right for us to grow together as a city | Dorchester Reporter

The pages of this local paper have been full to bursting the last few months with reporting and opinion pieces about the many proposals currently making their way through the city’s permitting process to build much-needed housing in Dorchester.

will be gathered at two broadly advertised meetings in the spring before the RFP is finalized, which will have online participation & email comment options too.

Several other meaningful improvements are also proposed. More via @[email protected] @ https://www.dotnews.com/2023/overhaul-ryan-playground-wading-pool-moves-ahead

Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) officials met last Thursday with state Rep. 🧵re #Mattapan's Ryan Playground: In coord w @[email protected], @[email protected] met last week w a small working group (incl me) abt a new proposed renovation. I'm THRILLED to share that not only did they agree to keep the wading pool, but propose doubling it in size. Full public input ...
I am so grateful to everyone who spoke to save this community resource, the electeds who advocated on our behalf, and, significantly, to @[email protected] for listening, regrouping, and pivoting to a new proposal more tailored to our needs with real opportunity for community input. 🗳️👏🎉
