While none of this is surprising, it’s the latest sign that if Trump is not held criminally accountable and ends up as the GOP candidate, he will drive America to the bottom and seek vengeance against all enemies, real and imagined. Tony StarkThe problem isn’t that Republicans are moral cowards, although they certainly are. It’s that they’re corrupt. Just look at the machinations McConnell went through to seize the Supreme Court for one glaring example. Or their uniform response as a party to Trump’s overwhelming loss in a certifiably free and fair election. They lie when the truth would sound better.
They have no policy to run on. They refuse to shut down the extremists in their party. This is what they’ll come to every time.
They’ll never change. They have no better angels. The recent midterms in which election-denying Republicans crashed showed American voters are on to them. That will continue. They can only be driven out of power.
