I don’t remember where on the internet this is from. But I feel like this cause/effect latency applies to so many aspects of society. Our brains have more and more difficulty connecting cause and effect as the effect lags behind cause. When individuals or organizations have power, it is typically proportional to the size of the organization or structure they have power over. The larger the organization or structure, the more inertia, red tape, etc. which corresponds to more effect lag. 1/?
