You don't need to be a coder to figure this out. Simply type: tab age

You'll discover a smattering of 99 year olds, a few 100 year olds, a couple of 101 year olds, and a pileup of 150 year olds, but no-one in their 130s or 140s. That's a clear sign you've discovered a coding issue rather than fraud
Hmmm. Docker seems to have been a tad broken recently. First had the macOS malware issue and recently had to reset it completely and lost all my containers. On the upside I didn’t realise I had so many and regained 100gb of mostly lorem ipsum blog posts.

I love the GOV.UK Design system and use it a lot in my projects, which are almost always #WordPress and Gravity Forms so I wrote a post about how I integrate it into my projects:

I really really love the GOV.UK design system, and the Frontend framework that enables it GOV.UK Frontend. It's an absolute

Wrote a post about Inquirer.js and how I use it for exporting content from my WordPress instances for use in something like Eleventy.

An increasing number of posts appears to be focusing on how to get content *out* of WordPress. Lol. Well needs

WordPress is in trouble

Since I last wrote about WordPress, things have gone off the rails. This after a brief period when things were blissfully quiet. Matt Mullenweg stopped commenting for a while, though his company had launched WP Engine Tracker — a site for tracking WordPress-driven websites that moved away from WP Engine. I think this is a bit gauche, but it seems like fair marketing given everything that’s going on. It should be noted that many sites are leaving for Pressable — owned by Mullenweg’s company, Automattic — because of a sweetheart deal.

This is a monumental day for the future of the social web, though it might not be obvious for a while. Mastodon matures its governance model with a great, solid non-profit https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2025/01/the-people-should-own-the-town-square/ and a coalition of independents push to open up Bluesky's AT Protocol: https://freeourfeeds.com/ These two moves together put the most credible players on solid ground for years to come — and set up the open platforms to enable lots of innovation just when it's needed most.
The people should own the town square

It is more important than ever that the social web is not controlled by corporations. Today, Mastodon is taking another step towards its founding ideals: independence and non-profit ownership. We're transferring ownership of key assets to a new European not-for-profit entity, ensuring our mission remains true to a decentralised social web, not corporate control.

Decided to reverse engineer #WordPress' theme.json into an #11ty template that renders the output as CSS:

Increasingly I've been including 11ty in my WordPress builds as part of the theme. Great for static assets, such as

Time for a wee adventure. Let's see how far I can get on a Stagecoach East Scotland day rider in a day. I'm starting in Camelon with no Stagecoach services. So it'll be a McGill's to start with.

I got a bundle of 5 East Scotland Day riders last June and I've only used one so far, so about time I used another as they only last a year.

Going to play it safe with McGill's and leave my options open for the return by going for an all zone ticket. Would be easier if they had tap tap cap.

The awesome authors from A Book Apart (RIP 💐) have created a semi-official directory of where you can find their books

https://authors-together.org

Many you can read for free, others you can buy from the authors.

Thanks folks!
