I finished The Ministry For The Future (by Kim Stanley Robinson).
Loved:
- firm basis in reality: it's hard sci-fi and, at times, I got excited about the solutions, forgetting that I was reading fiction
- human touch: KSR doesn't shy away from writing about the human experience, even when it is brutal
- economics is at the heart of his solutions, as I think is key to solving climate (lends to that anchor in reality)
- I learned a lot!
Just finished the finale of Andor, and seriously, this show was better than any Star Wars show has the right to be.
Intense, a cast that I liked unreasonably much, and some great lines.
The first few episodes were going slow, but by the end, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Although, with the larger number of characters, I would say it is made for binging it than for watching an episode every few weeks. More like a long movie.
Well done to the Monday night team for providing all these dinners. There’s good people in Northampton!
