@kyle @obviousman Unsurprisingly I made that joke elsewhere. 😂

There's a new episode of Magical & Revolutionary before we take a brief hiatus until July (WWDC and some travel.) I'm joined by @adamengst of @TidBITS fame (among the many other things!) and he was gracious to geek out with me about the early days of the Mac web and how TidBITS has changed and adapted over its run:

The third episode of Magical & Revolutionary is now available. I'm joined by Adam Engst, known for TidBITS, Take Control...

@rebound @dmoren @Moltz @lexfri _Finally_ subscribed to The Rebound Prime a few days ago, and wish I’d done so sooner. My skin is glowing and I already feel healthier and stronger! Recommended.

“The Rebound Prime: submerged in oil.” (I forget if this was copy Lex used to read, or Dan from 5by5.)

@siracusa I highlighted the relevant portion in my screenshot, which was from Gurman's prediction piece today (mostly just a roundup of things he's written already). But, yes, all the swipes are still downward, this was just me speculating, and lots of people apparently still use that widget screen that I totally forget is there most of the time!
@aleen Well, it's been a long time since I wanted to write fanfic, but you have definitely awakened something in me.

A good point! I do think that the swipe down risks getting overloaded, though: left for Notification Center, center for search/ask, right for Control Center.

@dgriffinjones Yeah, I get it does have utility! But I'm sure Apple also has metrics on how many people do use it, and I wouldn't be shocked if they felt like that real estate was more valuable for other purposes.
@dgriffinjones I know some people do! I forget it's there and I find it weirdly detached now that you can put widgets anywhere.
Gurman's latest iOS 27 report says that notifications slide in from the left to go along with pulling down from the top left to get to Notification Center, but wouldn't it make more sense to have it accessible by swiping left-to-right on the home screen and finally getting rid of that vestigial widgets screen?
