Still looking for pointers on managed hosting for #Firefish (#Calckey) or #WordPress integrations for easy cross-posting between my blog and the Fediverse. Suggestions and pointers welcome!
(Yes, I know about the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress. One, I wasn't able to get it working quite right, possibly because my blog is in a subdirectory, possibly some other reason; two, I'd prefer to have my blog posts integrated with my primary feed instead of existing as a separate feed.)

Okay, so: Some #Calckey questions. Added as I type: Is there a way to increase the size of this posting box so I can see more than five lines of whatever I'm typing? This is an instant "do not like". Also added as I type: Why don't the up/down arrows work consistently in this text entry field? They didn't at all for a bit, but now they are, which is kind of more frustrating than if they simply didn't work. I've been idly considering moving to my own private #Fediverse server. From what I can find right now, that's simple(-ish) for #Mastodon, as there appear to be a few managed hosting services for Mastodon. Are there any for #Calckey? (Context: I've been online since the early '90s, am fairly tech literate, but I'm long past my days of enjoying and having time time to dive into the fiddly inner bits, and greatly appreciate the stereotypical Apple ideal of "it just works". So while I'm not at all averse to _managing_ an instance, I don't want to have to learn how to install, upgrade, etc. I'm definitely in the market for managed hosting rather than having to figure out what a Docker is (or whatever Calckey uses) and everything else involved in the actual hosting side of things.) I currently use a #WordPress plugin to automatically push posts on my blog to my Mastodon account. Does such a thing exist for Calckey? (Yes, I know that in theory, I can install the #ActivityPub plugin and have my blog join the Fediverse that way. Great in theory. In practice, that proved to not work as well as hoped for reasons I didn't take the time/effort to figure out. Also, I like that my posts show up as links in my feed instead of existing as a separate account that must be followed on its own.) I think that's it for now. Honestly, first impressions here are good. Markdown support is something I miss when I'm on Mastodon; I'll have to explore MFM a bit more. I am confused by the box at the top right with today's date and some vaguely labeled month/day/year meters. What in the world is that? Definitely still early in my explorations, but so far, so good.
