@KaraLG84 Actually checking that video now. It's all about a specific style of bassline in Trance music. The actual title of the video should be, "how to make your rolling sub basses sound better". But this is youtube I guess, I like this guy's videos normally.
@KaraLG84 @jscholes I remember SOnique's feels so good.
It was indeed in the year 2000. Remember liking some of the remixes that came out on the maxi singles. Unfortunatly I never managed to buy a copy at the time.
@BorrisInABox I find videos like that sometimes.
There's some things I look for though.
I check what the channel name is, if the channel name seems a bit strange or if it isn't a channel I've heard of before it sets my red flags off.
Also, if the video was uploaded some hours ago or a day ago, but got many thousands of views, that also means it could be an AI generated one.
I've been a little quiet about this for the last week or two but I'm currently in a place where I'm relatively certain I can actually pull it off.
Last year, the #Ableton Live 12 software became ... pretty accessible. First-party #accessibility, particularly in a tool like this, is practically unheard of, so that made a bunch of Waves. (pun somewhat intended).
One of the big gaps that existed, and still exists, is working with so-called Max4Live devices, as well as VST plugins that have a large amount of parameters. Ableton doesn't currently expose these properly to screen readers, and hasn't for over a year now. I'm sure they'll get around to it one day, but I think I can get there faster.
One of my current Patreon projects is a tool I'm calling Enableton, which fixes both of these issues as well as I can fix them.
If this'd be of use to you, have a look over at https://patreon.com/zersiax at this and other projects I'm working on :)
@KaraLG84 I looked for that, but couldn't find how to do it.
In the settings there's a thing where you can limit how many minutes to use shorts for, the lowest number I saw there was 15 minutes.
@KaraLG84 Well for what it's worth I bought it.
Of course we can get the same effect with reapers ReaReaRea stretch algo, but this thing is still cool.
@KaraLG84 Ah that's not actually too bad. But yeah honestly thought the developer had given up on that software.
@KaraLG84 So if it isn't free, how much is it now?
@KaraLG84 Hmmm not that much changed.
Also there's an algo in Reaper now that lets us do the akai style stretching. It's slightly different, but by messing with some parameters, you can get them to sound identical.
@KaraLG84 I've saved the latest version I downloaded, from early 2025 I think.
Mainly cause I thought it was a dead project. So still have it.
My windows version is still a 32 bit app.
Also interesting it's no longer free, wonder what's changed.
