My personality is a frustrating mix between skepticism and naïveté, so when I read an article that supports its statements with original research that in fact directly contradicts those statements, my reaction is both "did you really think I wasn't going to check your references? I'm not stupid, you know." and "why would you ever want to trick me like that??!"
