I've seen a bizarre amount of trash-talk lately aimed at people - primarily freelance artists - who have expressed concerns about their ability to maintain an audience on Mastodon, because people shouldn't be trying to "make it" here. Because the Fediverse isn't about "building your brand". Because the "popularity contest" of amassing a Twitter following isn't something to strive for here.

The thing is, freelance artists need to be able to make money to LIVE by selling commissions, and if they have no reach (or ability to grow an audience) because of the way Mastodon works, they *can't* make this their Twitter alternative.

I get it, capitalism sucks and nobody wants The Brands to find the Fediverse to be an acceptable target audience, but y'all are the guy in the well haughtily chiding artists for participating in society. You get that, right? You do understand that there's a difference between Beyonce or Skittles and an independent full-time furry artist just trying to sell commissions at $40 a pop to make rent and needing the ability to reach new fans of their work to do so. Don't you?

I am really angry at Melon for being so childish as to suspend Mastodon's official Twitter account... 😡

I'm definitely moving here as my main social media account. Well, I'll be soon moving to @Curator, as soon as they approve my new account.

I will keep my account in the bird site for laughing purposes only... That site is not serious anymore, it's a joke.

This one took a little more time. I first thought of a thief being startled by Batman, but I needed the face to show the nervousness, and a thief would wear a ski mask. And then I thought of this gag. In the first version Batman was right behind, but felt wrong. Creepy, even. I hope you like this one!

I tried to pay homage to the awesome Jorge Jiménez. I love the Supersons!

Buying new art supplies to trick you into drawing because you *need* to try them out...

Second day in a row! The prompt this time is "jumbo" and the first thing that came to mind was the emerald giant, of course.

This is the first drawing I have actually liked in a while, although my inking needs work. Especially the hatching...

I've started using Sketch a day app to get inspiration and motivation for daily sketches. I'm planning on using traditional media, but today I didn't have time, so I used Clip Studio Paint on my Samsung.

The prompt for today was "index".

I've been programming for 40 years, 35 of that professionally. I've built my own compilers and entire game engines and I don't think I could pass a programming test for a job interview these days. We never gave programming test for RtMI, we just talked about programming with the candidate and never got a bum hire.

A different astronomy and space science related image is featured each day, along with a brief explanation.
