First KFF2 build, alongside its little brother.
Whilst the KFF1 works fine on the Ultimate64, C64 Reloaded II & Mega65, the KFF2 may never do so & thats perfectly fine. None of those machines need the KFF2.
Finished building a clone of the CMD FD-2000 (board from corei64.com, case from PCBWay). It's amazing that in this day and age, we're able to bring back old tech for everyone to enjoy! This was not an inexpensive build by any stretch. It was however significantly cheaper than an original. And it's 100% new (used a new old stock ALPS floppy drive).
The Atari 2600. One of my first loves!
One of my favourite restores. Recapped, knobs polished, joystick internals replaced with Best Electronics CX40 gold plated PCB, new stem and boot, then the trims re-painted with a custom blend enamel. I did 2 of the CX40 joysticks the same way.
Very happy with the way this one turned out.
Small slice of an Enterprise64 demo by Genesis Project! A group that every C64 aficionado should be intimately familiar with.
The Enterprise64. Truly a tale of what could have been. An incredibly capable little machine, i've upgraded this one with 512KB RAM, and internal ROM mod (with builtin BASIC) & an external shugart drive interface w/gotek.
Some of my favourites, dominating the lounge room. Fortunately for me, I have a very understanding wife!
Any day now, the 2nd batch of MEGA65 computers will start shipping. The social media discussions around this machine have been incredibly divisive at times, but almost all MEGA65 owners would agree that this is an amazing machine. If I could describe it in a single word, i'd have to say "community".
Occasionally, the desk is clean (mostly)! I'd love to have a bigger office or "retro" room, but for now, I make do.
What inevitably happens is that I acquire a few new broken machines or start new projects, then over the space of several months, parts trickle in and my desk becomes cluttered with them. I'm sure others that share this passion have the same problem!
Managed to shoehorn a meanwell PSU into a PC-8801mk2, making it suitable for 240v supply. Beautiful little machine, but would love to find a way to use an external gotek. Replacing the internal drives is probably the sensible thing to do, but would ruin the visual appeal IMO.
