A blind person who loves tech, science fiction, and heavy metal. Feel free to get to know me.
@storm Now I can't find settings anywhere. I'm trying to import my followers so I can migrate accounts over and yeah, not seeing it.
@storm Thanks, before it just logged me out, but flat review clicking fixed it.
@johann I use Hetzner.
@storm Thank you. I've just set my own up, and I appear to have no admin interface or the button isn't accessible. is this because I didn't enable the config being saved in the database? If so how can I do it safely without borking my database up?
@storm If it has the ability to set a custom character limit and works with Semaphore without much messing around, then I'll definitely give it a look.
@ke7zum Did you update app installer from the Microsoft store? If you do that you should have winget by default.
Setting up a #mastodon server is really, really hard. You do the slightest thing wrong and all the services start correctly, all looks good until you visit the page and it sits there failing to load. what's even more enfuriating is when the page title is registered and no actual html or anything comes through.
@serrebi It's basically like a proxy server then. It sounds like I probably couldn't use unbound with the current configuration I have because the nginx proxy would get there first.
@serrebi Same, I intend to get piehole running at some point too. I am considering just geting another server for Mastodon honestly. If the database gets big I have 40GB for it to use, rather than my current server which is cluttered with various web stuff and other things I host on there.
@serrebi Also how would unbound work to do that though? From my understanding it's more about accessing other domain name servers and stuff than doing that. I've only encountered unbound being used in a piehole setup where you want your own DNS server without any third party servers resolving stuff for you.
