Setting up a
#mastodon server is really, really hard. You do the slightest thing wrong and all the services start correctly, all looks good until you visit the page and it sits there failing to load. what's even more enfuriating is when the page title is registered and no actual html or anything comes through.
Looks like setting up mastodon (specifically hometown) is going to be harder than I thought. I first have to basically nuke away my docker infrastructure of reverse proxy and lets encrypt and move that all to the actual system, then install it the normal way and not with docker-compose. or I could just get another server and stick it on that, but it's another 5 pounds a month I'm shelling out. Arg.
Gnome have done it again. Their disk usage analyzer is now completely screwed. I can access the list of drives, but beyond that it's a big fat no, because they use the same crappy inaccessible treeview they use for the file picker. At least use the treeview in nautilus. Oh wait, this is gnome I'm talking about and they've screwed everything up in recent years.
I've been thinking of starting my own Mastodon instance for a while now, so I can have both a bigger character limit and also have control over my own server so i don't have to wait for someone else to fix their stuff. Is this actually a good idea if it's just me or possibly a few other people on there, or would it still be a tech nightmare to keep going?
So, I've been hearing a lot about a new version of Pinafore that's being updated with accessibility in mind. Could someone tell me the name or send the link to the github? I've tried searching and just got the original client.
Emacspeak is very interesting. Still can't figure out how to save settings like voice rate and other stuff though.
Everyone says on arch you get all the software you need. Well then, where's any kind of python speech dispatcher package? Not in the AUR and not in the repos. Pretty sure I can't install it with pip either. I have all the repo and AUR packages I need, but now this one is annoying me.
Looks like Discord screwed up in the accessibility department again. Now I can't see my server list on Linux, both on the web client and the flatpak. This is really starting to annoy me.
YouTubeIt's that time of year again, and every new years eve I do a new year stream on my youtube channel. This time the 2 main games that will be played will be the road to rage ultimate and build to survive. The link and address to connect to the team talk server we'll be hanging out on will come when the stream is starting.
