How UI degrades over time.

Top (Windows 95): great contrast, obvious shapes. Instantly readable.

Middle (Windows 11): shapes are still self-explanatory, but contrast is gone.

Bottom (Windows 11 Insiders): what am I even looking at? The only shape I can understand here is the Run button. Barely visible, though.

Then, on the left, there’s another something that says Run and has an icon. What is it? A window title? Another button? Why does it have to say Run twice?

The app is free and available everywhere, so that will just be Apple TV.

The device is a premium product compared to other devices, that will be Pro.

The paid subscription is the highest tier, therefore Pro Max.

“I have Apple TV Pro Max in Apple TV on my Apple TV Pro.”

“The fact that ICEBlock was built on iOS and not Android is an example of how much trust people who care about security and privacy have been willing to put in Apple.”

This alone should hit it home as Tim often likes to say “only Apple can do.”

Apple should’ve still kept the swiping gesture to reveal the vertical list instead of forcing you to tap the tiny arrow. No need to break that muscle memory!

@atpfm @gruber

So it turns out Apple now not only allows referencing unreleased OS versions, but also calling it however you like it 🤷

I love it when a little design detail elegantly solves a frustration.

I’ve done a lot of endurance training recently and started using carbohydrate gels. Most brands come in a foil pouch with a tear off top. The trouble is the tiny foil tearing the top off creates is a nightmare to keep track of and not drop.

Tried Precision gels this morning and noticed they cleverly cut their pouches so that the top opens easily but doesn’t full detach. Works so well and now I don’t have to think about it. 👍🏻

@siracusa I think you’ll find it interesting that the M4 sits directly behind the copper Apple Logo, therefore acting as a heat sink.

They probably didn’t throw some thermal compound on there because that would just transfer a lot of heat to the logo and be really hot to touch.

From the title, I’m going to deduce there are 601 total apps.

If you know a thing or two about fonts, this is the best 76 seconds you’ll spend today.

@gruber You’ll definitely get a kick out of this one

The Space Black is only available on the M3 Pro MacBook Pro starting at $1999, not the base M3 model for $1599.

Darn you @gruber for giving them ideas!
