Got a government brochure today telling us to prepare for war.
Hala Madrid!
Ordered the new iPad Pro, knowing I won’t use it more than my circular saw…
I need to create and publish an app before the end of March to prevent my dormant Google developer account from being deactivated. Looks like a good push to finally learn some Jetpack Compose. :)
In a few hours, Apple will open pre-orders for the Vision Pro. As a consumer, I'm not too thrilled to embrace this device as it currently is. However, as a tech enthusiast, I'm excited about its potential future impact. Considering how computers have evolved from room-sized behemoths to pocket-sized powerhouses in just a few decades, I can't wait to see what the future of spatial computing holds.

ChatGPT has been incredibly helpful during this transition. I often find myself ask it things like, 'What's the best Vim way to navigate/select certain text, etc.?' and the answers are always spot on. It's such a relief not to have to tackle this challenge alone! 😅

I've started using Vim mode in Xcode over the past few days while I struggle to adjust to the arrow keys on my 60% HHKB keyboard.

I retained some basic Vim muscle memory from my early days, so I'm not completely starting from scratch. After the initial challenges, I'm starting to get comfortable with it and even enjoy using Xcode in Vim mode. 😃

Update on my HHKB - after chatting with other HHKB users on Reddit and confirmed that the key rattle is indeed an issue/feature of the Professional/Classic model, I returned mine and ordered a Hybrid Type-S.

I hope this will be my last keyboard.

- The Topre switches feel great to type on. Compared to the silent switches I used before, these are not mushy at all.
- I love the hardware DIP switches for customization without extra software – a big win over trashes like Logi Options that tend to eat up more RAM than Xcode does!

So far my rating is a mere 6/10. I'll give myself more time to adapt and see how it goes.

First impressions of my new HHKB after several hours:

- It's incredibly compact.
- Adjusting to the layout is tough! I often hit the ~ key instead of backspace, and reaching the Fn key without leaving the home row is challenging. This makes it hard to use the arrow keys without looking.
- The keys have a noticeable rattling sound, which appears to be a common issue among HHKB users (not so much with the type-S models).
