In New York yesterday, I bought a brass Kaweco mechanical pencil at Goods for the Home and am charmed by it. I also bought a physical planner at Muji.

Because Google Calendar is getting weirder.

It has started notifying me of events for which I hadn't set notifications, plus at least one that I had not put in the calendar: that is, it instructed me to visit my late husband's grave.

I visited my husband's grave LAST week, dammit. Stop trying to remind me of things.

I went into Calendar settings, and I think I have fixed the problem, but boy howdy that was a touch unsettling. Besides, I like writing with a pencil in a planner. It reminds me of my teaching days.

Because my medical practice is in a university, my audiologist had a doctoral candidate in audiology shadowing her. He majored in music and plays the viola, but decided he needed a more predictable career.

I tried to pay for my new aids on checkout but my bill hadn’t shown up yet, so I headed to the ladies room before leaving and the desk clerk came to get me there, because the bill did show up. That was a stimulating experience.

I am now back to using aids instead of my AirPods Pro. The downside is I don’t realize I have them in. The upside is they last a little longer on a charge, and they work as Bluetooth earbuds.

I don’t know if it’s an upside or a downside that people won’t know I’m wearing them.

My new dentist’s office has been emailing me every day for two weeks asking if I would like to schedule a cleaning. It has been about three weeks since they cleaned my teeth.

It isn’t unusual for this kind of thing to happen, and I wish it were. I guess I only notice because I keep my inbox empty.
