There has recently been a huge rush of people trying out Mastodon. This is also noticeable in the number of people reading my earlier Mastodon Guide. I wanted to take this opportunity to provide a brief list of usage tips that I wish I had at hand when first setting
I feel hyperaware that this instance is a pre-existing community before a buncha board game twitter folks came in. I bet everyone is being really awesome - but I also suspect it's impacting those who've been here for awhile a lot as folks come in eager but coltish. I suspect it's not bad, but it could feel overwhelming. That's definitely shaping how I behave here right now.

#introduction Hello! I'm Carrie... I followed many of you lovely content creators and board game/TTRPG enthusiasts on the birdsite and wanted to stay in the loop. I teach science, got a run a board game day camp for kids, and have been in "modern" board gaming for about 10 years. (I did play MTG in the 90s...lol)
I'm still figuring out all of this (is favourite a like? is boost just a "re-toot?" These are are my burning questions. Anyway, lovely to see so many awesome tabletop faces here!
