One thing that I discovered whilst doing this is that Jules Verne's information about the US was hopelessly out of date.

At one point they get stuck behind hordes of Bison. But Bison had been extinct in that region for many years previously.

Vehicle types are colour coded, Blue for Trains, Red for Ships, Grey is Carriages, Green is on foot.
Orange is "Other".
In this instance it's Elephant.

in some places, like the UK and India it was quite straightforward, because the railway still exists.

In the US they removed a bunch of railroads so I had to redraw from historic and context clues.

Look at these fiddly canyons.

I got a little obsessed with "Around the World in 80 Days" and discovered that there wasn't a nice detailed dataset charting the route described in the book.

So I made one.
