Which brings me to part two, MeshMarauder.
An open source tool demonstrating proof-of-concept exploits against the DEFCON 33 Meshtastic firmware.
MeshMarauder will demostrate:
- Tracking user activity on any mesh regardless of encryption usage
- Hijack all meshtastic user profile metadata
- Change any users public key
- Send messages as any user in channel chats that appear authentic
- MITM direct messages
On the last day at #DEFCON31 we have setup our first @VeilidNetwork headless/server node, a new chapter for us running privacy infrastructure for public use
#Veilid documentation is sparse currently so here is what we've used to setup/validate/troubleshoot a node on Ubuntu Server 22.04
this #Veilid node (veilid.emeraldonion.org) is running on dedicated hardware hosted in our Westin datacenter colo in downtown Seattle with Seattle Internet Exchange peering
