@pjohanneson @pcbeard @jacqueline @moviemorgz this page on DDG sources explains it:

https://help.duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/results/sources/

“…we have more traditional links and images in our search results too, which we largely source from Bing.”
“When we send a request to a partner for information used in search results, the transfer of information is proxied through our servers so it stays anonymous.”

Where do DuckDuckGo search results come from?

DuckDuckGo is an independent internet privacy company that offers a private alternative to Google search & Chrome in one free app.

@sirc @RickiTarr where is this awesome Dylan mural?
@RickiTarr #glasgow has a ton of murals. This #fearless one was of my favorites.
@lolennui to me, this is the natural extension of viral misinformation. Buzzfeed, Twitter, etc., even Mastodon, should not be your sole or primary source of news. Posting things in hope they go viral removes the foundational elements of good journalism - proper sourcing, multiple sources, fact checking, etc. ChatGPT is the natural extension of that. ChatGPT is fast. Fast = better chance of viral. Fast = not necessarily true.
