"He only does two things: he bashes Newton and talks about the momentum principle."
@level98 Absolutely, that's what I meant by "breaking barriers" in my reply, and it's so important not to forget it. Also, I think it's important for people with various dominant identities to remember that advancing culture/social/political change often requires sacrifice. Szilard is a good example, as his physics career suffered from his anti-nukes advocacy (I also enjoyed his portrayal in the Rhodes book!)
Some for me: Leo Szilard and Albert Einstein, Ursula Franklin, Andrei Sakharov and Yuri Orlov, Melba Phillips. And the many pioneers whose activism included breaking barriers related to their identities.
Physicists have always been activists. Who is your favourite activist physicist?
@physgal Oh wow, that sounds like quite a panel!
@Phyz oh right, yes #aaptsm23!
@MichaelPorter I think we are still rolling in!
@k_ansell 🤩

Just got a #aaptsm22 session approved: "Team-work in Labs: Guidance for Instruction". Excited to pull together research-based best practices for collaboration in the physics lab!

If you're interested, please get in touch and/or consider preparing something! #iteachphysics

@ericbrewe Reporting in! It's a bit tricky to interact between different instances (e.g., mastodon.online vs mas.to)
