This makes me very angry.

These are anti-homeless benches designed to look pleasing. It’s called hostile architecture. They’re meant to be uncomfortable to discourage sleeping on.

The people who designed these are assholes. They’re decorators, not designers.

A designer makes things to improve the world for everyone. A decorator takes otherwise unpalatable injustices and disguises them with aesthetics in an attempt to make them inoffensive or even desirable.

Be a designer, not a decorator.

The climate crisis is out of control. Even if we had the political will so much damage has already been done.

But we don't have political will. In fact, politics is actively going against us.

So does this mean give up?
Not exactly. It means give up trying to tell everyone everything is fine as long as they have hope. As I've said before this type of hope is just a way of holding onto a system that really isn't serving us, and never will.

Actually it means now is the time to start making changes within yourself. There's a certain comfort in accepting that we could now be facing end times. You become more conscious and aware of how you're living. You actively dont want to take part in the system you know caused this. You actively don't want to waste anymore of your time trying to convince others they need to change. You actively don't want to follow the same boring narrative of corruption and childish fighting.

You actively want to start living.
Now is the time to start building communties and finding what your passionate about that you can contribute. Where there is a lack of good leadership, become a leader yourself. Where there is a lack of good information, be the one to teach it.

Out with the old and in with the new. It's not going to be easy, but change never is. Especially when that change is being forced upon us at such an unprecedented rate.

What is coming is coming. It's hard to prepare fully as we don't really know exactly what is coming. So take control of yourself first. Stop reacting and start living. Remember, the future is still yet to be written.
