The DoE has drafted guidance for schools to delay and deny support for trans and gender diverse youth to socially transition at school, including by early notification for parents if a child self-discloses their identity, seeking consultation with other students and parents before deciding whether to affirm their identity and framing gender identity as ‘contested ideology’. Stonewall have crafted a guide for responding to this consultation to show that this is misplaced.
