Looks like I'll be migrating this account over to @d_j_fitzgerald today! I'm excited to be moving to an instance hosted by a meatspace organization that I am a part of! (And hoping that they decide to do decent moderation... their server rules are extremely light at the moment).

I'll be setting up a redirect so that I have something to fall back on in case it all goes to hell.

too owo to die too uwu to live

Unit acquired from I can only assume a nice little old lady in NH. I now have more grocery store plastic bags from places I haven’t shopped sitting in a very used USPS box labeled “Pictures Glass!”, wrapped in paper grocery bags.

The ends are completely sheared off, it looks like the grandkid(s) sideswiped this thing out of the TV, both RCA center conductors are sheared off from a blow to the side. That’s fine cause those are going to be replaced entirely, but I jammed a ferrule on the end of the video one and plugged it into the CRT to see if it works, and it does!

The board inside looks to be a revision 2 and legitimate so it can be modded with the cartridge slot. So now I have to sit and ponder how to go about building this. #FlashRack2

Oh wow! VCFED finally gotma Mastodon instance going! I've been waiting for something like this, I may look into migrating to it tomorrow

I’ll probably start tagging my projects with hashtags cause even I can’t find where my threads end. This might be useful for a future endeavor as I figure out what to do with all this cheese.

But thanks to a dare from @d_j_fitzgerald the #FlashRack2 is going to be started, of putting a modded Atari Flashback2 with a cartridge slot into my AV rack with all my other modded consoles. It’ll probably be a half-width cause it does not need the entire 19” wide space, but that just means there’s half U of space for another console (or the rack controller).

This one is called The Persistence of Odo.
And somehow the showrunners thought we needed a stupid Russian subplot that made zero sense and writing that went off the rails as soon as sweeps week hit.
The whole concept of "Life on Mars" but Sam Tyler finds himself in New York City 1973 deserved way better. Sam has gone from an overpriced 1% paradise Manhattan to a NYC that is on the verge of bankruptcy in the closing days of Watergate, while suffering under the repercussions of Robert Moses' racist city planning. The South Bronx were literally _on fire_.
Also: why the heck did they cut Nelson??! He's presented in a single scene in the pilot as a burly white dude from Poughkeepsie, and then you never see him again.
Plus the completley untapped reality that a NYC-native Sam Tyler would have most likely been a first responder on 9/11, and the fact that he once again has to _see_ the bloody things every single day when in all likelihood he probably lost coworkers and/or loved ones when they fell in 2001
