Last week I tried to make a donation, via my Fidelity Donor Advised Fund, to the SPLC, which I've donated to previously. Fidelity rejected the transaction.

SPLC is a 501(c)3 charity that is fully eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions. They are the target of a Trump DoJ investigation, but they haven't been found guilty of any crime, and their 501(c)3 status remains valid.

I'll be moving my DAF to one that respects my (lawful) wishes.

FYI for those in the US (at least) with expensive prescriptions for pets - Costco prices for pet meds is really good. I am saving about half from what my vet charges. We were getting into the $300/month range
it seems someone decided to prove you really can just publish any nonsense protocol draft with the IETF https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-meow-mrrp-00.html

Heh. There’s an app delivery driver who’s dropped off here several times named “Mad Killer”. With some trepidation, I just met them outside to get my food.

Turned out to be a sweet looking elderly lady. Still definitely not going to mess with her.

i was quite surprised to discover that no one had registered deleteduser [dot] com, and was curious to see how many emails i'd get if i registered it, assuming many orgs 'delete' logic probably just overwrote the email address with [email protected] or similar.

The answer, is at least 3 different orgs in the hour that I've owned that domain and been listening for email.

And yes, all of those emails contain the actual PII of the person who has been 'deleted' :-D

It’s amusing to overhear a business processes consultant opine on how to improve Amtrak without even having looked at the wikipedia page to understand the business fundamentals.

Clearly this is her first multi-hour delay.

Mercifully she’s not taking it out on the crew at all.

At least three different strangers (who are presumably all sloppy typists) appear to have accidentally set one of my email addresses as a primary or recovery contact on various systems. One of them is for a bank account, for which I regularly receive statements showing a moderate balance.

Since I have no desire to become a CFAA exam question, my sense of mischief has to go unsatisfied.

The Sad Decline of Trenchant Exec Who Had Everything, Before Deciding to Steal and Sell Zero Days to Russian Buyer

Peter Joseph Williams, a former L3 Trenchant executive recently convicted of secretly selling zero-day exploits to a Russian broker, says he was suffering anxiety, burnout, years of depression, and financial difficulties when he decided to steal exploits from his US employer and sell them to the Russian buyer.
